The Lens reads Value. The week’s lowest close was its first — Monday at 63,517 — and everything after was a grind higher that never closed back below its opening print. The week ended at 64,890, up 2.2 per cent. A quiet recovery is the kind the reading is built to see through: the zone measures price against what holders actually paid, and neither moved enough to relocate it.
The sharper detail sat in the flows. The ETF complex bought the recovery the whole way — five consecutive positive sessions, a seven-day net of $833 million through Friday — after the outflow streak that defined late July broke inside the window. Money returned through the funds while price crawled.
No purchase was scheduled this week — the rule’s last step went in on 28 July. The week’s job was holding the position and taking the reading. Nothing was bought, nothing trimmed, nothing else triggered.
A reading that ignores a listless week is the same instrument as one that ignores a dramatic one. The discipline isn’t reacting to how the week felt — it’s letting the same measurement meet the same rule, in weeks that go somewhere and in weeks that don’t.
